With an overall investment of €190 million, construction and leasing for the opening of Carrefour Property’s major mall in Palma de Majorca is progressing unabated, with more than 92% of the GLA leased. Around 1,500 people will find jobs in the new shopping center. The largest project currently under development in Europe by the Group’s real estate subsidiary is located on a consolidated retail plot named Avenida Cardenal Rossel. It is well-known by Majorcan locals for being situated adjacent to one of Spain’s most successful Carrefour hypermarkets.
With over 66,000 sq m of GLA, 120 shops, and 2,500 parking spaces, “FAN Mallorca Shopping” is in the process of becoming a latest generation, large-scale mall—a place where customers can enjoy online and offline experiences, with a 4-D cinema complex operated by Artesiete, a breath-taking food court, and a spectacular leisure area. Carrefour Property has worked successfully on leasing since the project’s inception. As a result, brands from various sectors, such as Primark, Media Markt, Decathlon, H&M, Mango, C&A, Artesiete, Cortefiel Group (Cortefiel, Pedro del Hierro, Women’secret, Springfield), Sfera, Calzedonia, Hunkemöller, Kiabi, Dock39, Parfois, Celio, Adidas, Décimas, Polinesia, Rituals, Yves Rocher, Primor, and Centros Único have already joined the list of confirmed retailers.
BREEAM certification
Incidentally, the name “fan,” which one might associate with the English terms “fun” or “fan,” remembers the typical Majorcan windmills that inspires the new logo, recreated with the colours of the sun.
Construction of “FAN Mallorca Shopping” is progressing at an uninterrupted pace with an approach focused on environmental respect and energy sustainability. The project, which has all permits and legal requirements, also meets the guidelines established by the BREEAM certification. The complex is being given a Majorcan character in look and style.
