Inditex plans to gradually reopen its stores in Ukraine from April 1, 2024 due to improved local market conditions. It will start with 20 stores, three of them from the Zara brand and also the online plattforms will restart. Before the stores were closed in March 2022, the Group operated over 70 stores in Ukraine.
The approximately 550 stores in Russia were sold to the Daher Group, based in the United Arab Emirates, in 2022. If the circumstances change, a return to the market can be considered.
Competitor H&M has already started opening its stores in November 2023. The company currently operates seven stores in Kyiv and Lviv. According to the data, the group had eight stores at the end of 2021.
The history of Inditex begins in 1975 with the first Zara store founded by Amancio Ortega and currently consists of seven brands: Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho and Zara Home. Inditex is available in 213 markets, including online, and has more than 5800 stores.
