Neither the spokesperson for the insolvency administrator Stefan Denkhaus nor a spokesperson for the company would comment on the matter when asked. The administrator of Galeria had recently held final negotiations with two bidders regarding the sale.
According to the report, Stefan Denkhaus had already informed the creditors’ committee on Monday that NRDC and Beetz were to be awarded the contract. The contracts are to be signed on Tuesday. Denkhaus plans to present the buyer to the public on Wednesday. The creditors’ meeting will make the final decision on the takeover in May.
At the beginning of January, Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof slipped into insolvency for the third time in just over three years. Insolvency proceedings were opened at the beginning of this month.
