Birkenstock Opens Its First Store In Paris

The German shoe retailer Birkenstock is expanding in France and opening its first store in Paris.

The Paris flagship store is also the first ever store on the French market, Birkenstock announced on Tuesday. The brand’s models will be presented on two floors.

With the opening planned for July 20, the store will be located in the Le Marais district. Until now, the French branch of Birkenstock led by Clémence Genevard (formerly of PVH Corp) has been relying on a network of retailers and its own online store.

Headquartered in Linz am Rhein, Germany, Birkenstock currently employs around 5,500 people. Since 2021, the brand has been majority-owned by L Catterton and Financière Agache, a holding company controlled by the Arnault family’s Agache.
