The handover of the Bedburg, Chemnitz, Essen, Neubrandenburg and Wesel locations is now subject to approval by the Federal Cartel Office and landlord consent. The sale of the aforementioned locations is based on the market halls not being able to be operated economically, reveals a recent press release.
“With Kaufland, we have found a potential successor whose concept is ideally suited to the requirements of the respective locations, which will continue to ensure local supply and preserve jobs,” explains Thomas Hewer, CEO of GLOBUS Markthallen.
In general, the GLOBUS market halls looked forward to a successful financial year 2023/2024, closing the financial year with an operating result (before one-off effects) at the same high level as in previous years.
