The owner, Bayerische Hausbau Real Estate, is thus relying on the expertise of the IPH Group to implement its strategic market adjustment of the famous 1950s ensemble. The shopping center, which reopened in 2014, comprises 17,000 square meters of retail space and will be comprehensively managed by IPH in the future.
“With IPH, a recognized specialist for retail real estate in Germany will take over the center management mandate for our concept shopping mall at BIKINI BERLIN from January. We see this strategic partnership as an opportunity to further exploit the potential of this unique ensemble in the heart of Berlin’s City West with tailor-made concepts and to get closer to our tenants and their customers through adapted formats. In future, professional center management will provide our tenants with the approach and support that we want to offer,” says Thomas Bartl, Head of Asset Management and member of the Executive Management Team at Bayerische Hausbau Real Estate.
“The extension of the existing mandate for BIKINI BERLIN gives us the opportunity to make optimum use of our depth of services for the property. Our aim is to expand the attractiveness and sustainability of the property in the long term and strengthen its appeal through targeted diversification beyond retail,” explains Lars Jähnichen, Managing Director of the IPH Group.
“We are very much looking forward to the center management mandate for this historic icon at the Zoologischer Garten and to further developing BIKINI BERLIN with focused fresh ideas and our comprehensive expertise and expanding its position as a vibrant meeting place,” adds Marcus Eggers, Managing Director of IPH Centermanagement.
