MEC Drives The Development Of Its Retail Locations With 135,000 Sq M Of Leased Space

MEC, specialist for the management of retail properties, and, in particular, retail parks, let 135,000 sq m of retail space in 2024 and concluded 265 leases and contract extensions.

Even in a challenging market environment, the company succeeded in further developing its tenant and sector mix in a targeted manner and realizing sustainable follow-up lettings.

The new and extended leases include agreements with Apollo, Woolworth, New Yorker, Primark, Bijou Brigitte, Siemes Schuhcenter, Jeans Fritz, Müller Drogerie, dm, Rossmann, Takko, Modepark Röther and Fressnapf.

Location development as a strategic focus

The successful lettings in Saarbasar Saarbrücken, Dreieich Nordpark, Schlössle Galerie Pforzheim, Ostsee Park Rostock and Förde Park Flensburg in particular contributed significantly to the conceptual development. New tenants were integrated in a targeted manner in order to optimize the retail offering and adapt it to changing customer needs.

“The lease agreements concluded show that attractive lettings can be achieved in our retail properties despite challenging conditions,” says Christian Thiele, Head of Leasing Management at MEC. “The decisive factor is a well thought-out strategy that focuses on both the requirements of the tenants and the long-term development of the locations.”

With its comprehensive management and letting expertise, MEC is one of the leading players in the German market for retail locations. In 2025, the focus is again on further developing retail locations with sustainable rental concepts and thus ensuring their future viability.
