The store features over 24,000 products, including 200+ new K-Classic items and the largest in-store bakery in Bulgaria with more than 170 freshly baked products daily, as well as a 400+ item fresh counter with premium meat, fish, cheese, and delicacies. Additional services include the One-Stop Shopping concept with SOpharmacy, a pizzeria, Speedy smart lockers, and EasyPay.
A frictionless shopping experience is also ensured by Kaufland with 6 traditional checkouts, 8 self-service checkouts, and K-SCAN digital shopping service.
Sustainability measures implemented at the store include energy-efficient technologies with an upcoming photovoltaic system installation already planned, the efficient use of waste heat from cooling systems, as well as shopping baskets made from recycled plastic.
The sustainable construction and managment of the store at XOPark is also only one of Kaufland’s many social initiatives. The retailer shows nationwide effort to restore and revitalize eco-trails across Bulgaria, and is also partnering with the Bulgarian Tourist Union to restore over 400km of eco-trails by the end of the year, with their first joint project being the restoration of a 50-km trail in the Kremikovtsi area.
XOPark Sofia is the largest retail park in the Balkans and is owned by local investment firm Trinity Capital. It spans 55,000 sq m in the northeastern outskirts of Bulgaria’s capital and is expanding in 2025 by an additional 25,000 sq m.
