Jardín Plaza Cúcuta
From November 3, 2017 Cúcuta — Colombia’s sixth-largest city — will enjoy a breath of fresh air with the beginning of construction on the Jardín Plaza Cúcuta shopping center, carried out by Sonae Sierra and the Colombian company Central Control.
Total investment in the project is running at more than €52 million and a gross leasable area of 43,000 sq m, which will be built on its own 12-hectare plot with room to expand.
The shopping center will have a wide range of high-quality offers, including 180 shops including local, national, and international brands, fulfilling the needs of people from Cúcuta and the wider region.
It will also have a positive economic impact through the creation of 4,500 jobs. 1,000 direct and indirect jobs will be created in the construction phase, and 3,500 more will follow once it opens.
“We are very happy with the start of construction works on Jardín Plaza Cúcuta, through which we wish to offer people from Cúcuta and the region a unique shopping and entertainment experience. Jardín Plaza Cúcuta will offer a wide range of commercial services, making it one of the main attractions in the city and the region,” said Tiago Eiró, General Manager of Sonae Sierra in Colombia.
The opening is planned for the end of 2018.
