Immofinanz: Two new members recommended for the Supervisory Board

The Supervisory Board of Immofinanz will make a proposal to shareholders at the 26th annual general meeting on May 22, 2019, which calls for the election of Bettina Breiteneder (photo) and Sven Bienert to the Supervisory Board.

Both are well-known managers with many years of experience in real estate and finance as well as extensive knowledge of supervisory boards.

“Bettina Breiteneder and Sven Bienert will strengthen and complement the Supervisory Board’s qualification matrix and, with their experience and expertise, are excellently suited to accompany and monitor the company’s strategic focus“, indicated Michael Knap, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Immofinanz. The nomination of the two candidates was preceded by an intensive evaluation process that included, among others, candidates recommended by shareholders.

Bettina Breiteneder

Bettina Breiteneder MRICS has been active in her family-owned corporate group, BIP Breiteneder lmmobilien Parking, since 1993 where her work focuses on property management and development. She served as chairwoman of the board of DZ-Donauzentrum Besitz- und Vermietungs-Aktiengesellschaft from 12/1995 to 2004 and as a member of the management board up to February 2006. Up to May 2004 she was a member of the supervisory board of Interunfall AG (a subsidiary of Generali) and from 2004 to May 2016 a member of the supervisory board of Erste Group, where she contributed her experience, among others on the risk management, construction, audit and IT committee. In addition, Breiteneder was a member of the management board of RICS Austria from 2008 to 2009 and a member of the supervisory board of “Austria Versicherungsverein auf Gegenseitigkeit Privatstiftung” from 2010 to 2012. Breiteneder is currently a member of the directorate of the Wiener Konzerthaus (since March 2012), a member of the supervisory board of Generali Holding Vienna AG (since June 2012) and, since July 2017, a member of the supervisory board of Pappas Holding GmbH, where she has served as chairwoman since April 2018. Breiteneder studied business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

Sven Bienert

Sven Bienert MRICS REV is a respected property expert with many years of experience in the real estate sector. He worked for many years in top positions for leading real estate companies and international consulting firms. Since 2010 he has headed the IRE|BS Competence Center of Sustainable Real Estate at the University of Regensburg, where he is a university chair holder, and, since April 2013 he has served as the managing director of IRE|BS Institute. He acted as the spokesman for the management board (CEO) of the Vienna-based Probus Real Estate GmbH (assets of approx. EUR 2.1 billion under management) from 2011 to 2013. Bienert is the editor and author of many real estate books and has won numerous research awards. In addition, he works as an independent consultant and appraiser. He is a board member of numerous real estate associations like the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB e.V.), ZIA German Property Federation, the Austrian Association of Real Estate Experts (ARE), “Verein zur Förderung der Qualität in der Immobilienwirtschaft“ (ImmQu), the Corporate Governance Institute of the German Real Estate Industry (ICG) and “Deutsche Vereinigung für Finanzanalyse und Asset Management e.V.” (DVFA). Bienert was a member of the supervisory board of CA Immobilien Anlagen AG from 2016 to 2018 and has been a member of the supervisory board of ZIMA Holding AG since June 2015.
