The grand opening of Helsinki Outlet, on Friday 1st of November, brought a large amount of people to the outlet village. The sales numbers have been unexpectedly high and is considered to be one of the strongest openings ever done by a retail concept in Finland.
The size of Helsinki Outlet is approximately 15,000 square meters, including almost 4,000 square meters of leisure. 95% of the village is leased and more brands will open their doors to the public in the coming weeks.
The brand mix is International & Nordic with a Finnish flavor representing fashion, footwear, sports/outdoor, home and cosmetics and 3 restaurants. The brand line-up includes brands like CK, Hugo Boss, Guess, Tommy Hilfiger, GANT, Tiger of Sweden, Sand, Marimekko, Timberland and Samsonite. The leisure meters are leased, in a long-term agreement, to HopLop. Finland’s no. 1 children’s park operator HopLop will open in December.
Helsinki Outlet is located next to Ikea, directly at one of the busiest highways in the country. The village is 10 minutes away from the airport and 20 minutes from Helsinki city center. The Helsinki capital area has 2 million inhabitants, besides that there is a significant potential in tourism. The airport in Helsinki is ranked as one of the top 5 most important airports for Asian tourist in Europe.
