Atterbury Europe and MPC Properties wanted to celebrate the opening of the BEO Shopping Center in the Serbian capital these days. The corona crisis thwarted that plan. The mall comprises over 43,000 sq m of GLA and a total built-up area of 130,000 sq m. The concept follows global trends in retail with multiple open areas, lots of natural light and greenery, all in order to provide visitors a high-value experience and shopping enjoyment. The design of the building is a conceptual result of Chapman Taylor based in Dusseldorf, Germany.
BEO Shopping Center will feature a tenant mix with more than 130 well-known international and regional brands, with different categories ranging from fashion to sports, meeting the consumers’ expectations. The mall also includes a cinema, supermarket, playground for children, and a rich gastronomy offer. The investment of more than €110 million, will serve a catchment are of more than 345,000 people within 15 minutes’ drive.
Not the only postponement
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are several other malls that could not open its door for visitors as planned. For example Aleja in Slovenia’s Ljubljana and AFI Brasov in Romania’s Brasov. Find the ACROSS article here.
