Galeries Lafayette and BHV Marais support Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris

Galeries Lafayette and BHV Marais have joined the nationwide response to France’s unprecedented health crisis with a substantial donation to Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), adding to the support already given to Bichat-Claude Bernard Hospital by Eataly Paris Marais, which Galeries Lafayette group has the exclusive franchise for in France.

To facilitate the opening of new beds designed to accommodate the large number of Covid-19 patients, Galeries Lafayette and BHV Marais therefore decided to donate a large part of their seasonal homeware products to AP-HP’s 15* Paris hospitals. Thanks to the support of their logistics teams, several thousand items including tableware, small appliances, duvets and pillows were inventoried, packaged and delivered in just a few days. Galeries Lafayette’s French integrated network of department stores also reached out to their local hospitals to roll-out similar donations in their respective provinces.

With this prompt delivery of concrete, practical items, Galeries Lafayette and BHV Marais have put their retail expertise to good use and found their own way of easing the everyday struggles of the hospital workers and patients coping with this emergency.

* The 15 hospitals receiving the donations are: Ambroise Paré, Antoine Béclère, Avicenne, Beaujon, Bicêtre, Bichat, Cochin, Georges Pompidou, Henri Mondor, Louis Mourier, Pitié Salpêtrière, Saint Antoine, Saint Louis, Tenon and Raymond Poincaré.
