Castellana Properties donates 50,000 euros from its Solidarity Fund in food and basic necessities to vulnerable groups

In the next few days, in view of the rising demand for this type of aid, food and hygiene products will be delivered to needy families and children’s homes, together with medicines for nursing homes.

Castellana Properties, specialist in the acquisition, management and rehabilitation of real estate assets in the retail sector and listed on the Alternative Stock Market (MaB), is collaborating with vulnerable groups in cities where it has shopping centres and retail parks through a social action fund. Thus, the firm has allocated 50,000 euros, part of its budget, to food and essential products to local associations such as the Red Cross in Cádiz or the Food Bank of Cádiz, Seville, Granada, Campo de Gibraltar, Badajoz, Valladolid and Solidarity Foods of Alicante so that they can cope with the exponential increase in aid requests during the present state of alarm.

In the next few days, food and hygiene products will be distributed in these regions to needy families and children’s homes, food will be donated to charitable associations such as charity canteens, kindergartens and nurseries, among others. In addition, breakfast packs for children from vulnerable families, certain perishable foods and support for social initiatives will be provided in order to respond to the latent needs that have been identified in these municipalities. These foods will be purchased in the supermarkets and hypermarkets of Castellana Properties’ shopping centres in these towns, which remain open to the public.

With the aim of ensuring the safety of employees and customers, since last March Castellana Properties has taken extreme cleaning measures in all its shopping centres and retail parks in order to reduce the pandemic and return to normal as soon as possible. Thus, in the shopping centres that remain open, hydroalcohol gels have been installed at numerous points, special cleaning protocols have been established and measures have been taken to maintain social distance in accordance with the guidelines set out by the Government.

According to Alfonso Brunet, CEO of Castellana Properties, “our shopping centres are the driving force of the economy in the areas where they are located, and we firmly believe that they should provide continuous support to their communities. In situations like the one we are experiencing, of considerable difficulty and complexity, the role of our centres is, if possible, much more important. That is why we want to support the localities where we are present and collaborate with those disadvantaged groups or those with special needs”.
