Tokmanni opens its remodelled store in Nummela, Finland

Tokmanni, Finland’s largest general discount retailer, will open its comprehensively renewed store in Nummela on Thursday 19 November 2020 at 8 am. The store, which now has the more modern and attractive Tokmanni look, will feature many special offers and Tokmanni’s popular free buckets filled with product gifts at its opening. Tokmanni always ensures a safe shopping experience also at its store opening events.

Among the first improvements that customers of the Tokmanni store in Nummela will notice is that the shelves have been rearranged to display the store’s extensive product assortment better than before. To enhance the customer experience, the store’s window decals and signage have been renewed in line with Tokmanni’s latest store concept.

Energy efficiency at the store has been improved by replacing the store’s conventional lighting with energy-saving LED technology, among other solutions. The store will also have a recycling point for customers’ small waste electrical and electronic equipment.

The total retail selling space at the Tokmanni in Nummela is the same as before, at about 3,100 sq m. The store will still feature a pick-up point for items bought from Tokmanni’s online store and a Posti Parcel Point. In addition, there is an extensive garden department in connection with the store, as usual.

“We are very pleased that the remodelling was completed just in time before the busy Christmas season,” says Mathias Kivikoski, Sales and Marketing Director of Tokmanni.

“The enhancements made to the Tokmanni in Nummela will make shopping much more pleasant in more ways than one. In addition to the improvements to the visual appearance, we are particularly pleased with the updated shelf arrangement, as it will now be easier for our customers to find the products they are looking for. In particular, seasonal products, which are currently Christmas presents and other Christmas products, are now more prominently displayed in the new arrangement,” he adds.

Safety first, also at the opening

Tokmanni will take special precautions to ensure a safe shopping experience at the store opening. The safety of the customers and employees will be ensured at the new Tokmanni with protective screens installed at checkouts and by offering customers hand sanitizer during their visit and reminding them to keep a safe distance with posters and announcements. Additionally, the personnel will be instructed to wear face masks. To avoid crowding during the opening, the number of customers inside the Nummela store at one time will be limited, if necessary.
