Echo Investment has leased 8.5 thousand sqm of commercial space to the Kaufland chain in the shopping center at Opieńskiego Street, thanks to which residents of the northern part of Poznań will be able to conveniently do their shopping. The store will be opened in April 2021.
The new Kaufland in Poznań will welcome its first clients at the beginning of April.
It will be opened in a building that until recently housed a Tesco store and in the future it will perfectly complement the offer of the planned project, that will fit in with the surrounding residential development. The facility, that apart from the grocery store operator also includes a shopping arcade with a range of shops and service outlets, is managed by Echo Investment.
“The facility at Opieńskiego Street has been operating for a dozen or so years and is visited by people who value quick and comprehensive shopping. As a new administrator, it was important for us to acquire a grocery tenant efficiently, so that our regular clients could soon return to do their shopping in their favourite place. A contract signed with Kaufland guarantees the residents of the northern part of Poznań comfortable access to the offer of one of the most popular grocery brands in Poland,” says Tomasz Domoń, Regional Leasing Director at Echo Investment.
As part of the Schwarz Group, Kaufland is one of the largest companies in the European retail market. Not only in Poland, but also in Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova, the company focuses on the highest quality, a wide range of products and attractive prices. In addition to branded goods and attractive private labels, Kaufland offers a wide range of regional products. Kaufland at Opieńskiego Street will be the chain’s second store in Poznań. The first one was opened in 1996 at Solidarności Avenue.
“The opening of the Kaufland store in Piatkowo in Poznań is part of our company’s strategy of strong expansion. Last year alone we opened 12 new stores in Poland, 7 of which in facilities we took over from Tesco. Thus Kaufland in Poland has 226 stores and is constantly looking for new locations, where it can be developed. The store that will be opened soon is the Kaufland’s second location in Poznań – we are happy to come along with the residents of the capital of Wielkopolska region in their daily shopping, providing a wide and diverse range of highest quality products at good prices,” says Ewelina Jarosińska, Management Board Member of Kaufland Poland.
Echo Investment finalized the purchase of a land plot in Poznań last December. The company is currently focusing on the development of multifunctional projects called “destinations”, which combine apartments, offices, services and restaurants. The company’s land bank provides the possibility to build complex, perfectly designed and attractive parts of cities. What is more, Echo Investment, as the only developer on the market, has experience in three sectors – residential, retail and office, which allows to plan projects on an urban scale so that they provide functions which are missing in a given area and improve its integration with the city.
