Campona, the family experience centre in Hungary, will be refurbished

By the end of 2021, the entire interior will be renovated in the South Buda shopping centre, which will continue to be one of the most attractive destinations to those who are looking for family shopping and recreation.

By fine-tuning its previous plans and responding to the changing market and customer behaviour, its owner, CPI Property Group, is renovating Campona’s entire shopping space and associated service units. The majority of the refurbishment, in line with previous plans, will be completed in 2021, with the construction to begin in May and the full investment is expected to be completed in early 2022. The entrances, shopping area and food court, as well as the toilets, are also planned to be renewed.

During the renovation, nearly 10,000 m2 of tiling and 4,450 m2 of suspended ceilings will be updated, 415 people will be able to eat comfortably in the food courtyard instead of the previous 275, moreover, 200 plants, 20 relaxation zones will await customers in the building. When the lighting is renewed, nearly 2 kilometres of LED strip will be installed.

The reborn Campona will provide many surprises for its visitors. Indoor playgrounds will be created for families, which will provide tools focusing on children’s development. Relaxation zones are also planned for those who want to take a break during the shopping, and an Insta photo corner with constantly renewable themes for young people active on social media is also planned to set up.

For guests who prefer the green way of transport, a bicycle storage and bike repair station will also be installed, in addition to the current car parks with electric chargers. Following the spirit of the circular economy of the 21st century, selective waste collectors will be placed in Campona not only for the tenants, but for the customers as well.

In the name of sustainability, the coverings will come mainly from the production of recycled materials, and 11 cooling and heating machines will be renewed, which would also continue to operate with environmentally friendly technological solutions.

Access4you was also involved in planning the renovation of the mall, allowing people with reduced mobility and disabilities to navigate in the house without hindrance.

For more than two decades, Campona has been one of the most attractive shopping malls in the South Buda region and agglomeration, especially for the family shoppers. It’s not a coincidence, since in addition to the commercial units commonly found in shopping malls, there are also entertainment options for families, such as the Tropicarium, the KockaPark or the Játszóház.

Thanks to the investment starting in May, the renewed Campona will provide quality recreation thousands of families in this decade as well.
