Since February last year, more than 325,000 sq m of sales area have been refurbished in the new Kaufland supermarkets. The refrigeration units, service counters, and technological systems have been modernized, and the checkout and bottle recycling areas have been redesigned.
Each supermarket was inspected, analyzed and measured beforehand. Usually, the transformation only takes two days of renovations. 38 of the 58 locations are cities where Kaufland has opened its first hypermarket.
With more than 35,000 items, each integrated supermarket offers an extensive range of groceries and everyday items. The focus is on the fresh fruit and vegetable section, dairy products, as well as meat, fish, cheese, and deli counters.
Most of the meat products are produced in the company’s own meat factories and come from selected suppliers of controlled origin. The entire range also includes a large selection of branded products, private labels, regional products, and a variety of items that contribute to the protection of people, animals, and the environment.
