MEC was commissioned for this by its long-standing client Nuveen Real Estate. This has already been the second new Nuveen mandate within a few weeks. Since August of this year, the addition of the Remsgalerie Schwäbisch Gmünd has also broadened the MEC portfolio. “We are very pleased about the trust of our customer and the new contract. With the additional location in Linden, our growth strategy continues to pick up speed,” says Christian Schröder, COO of MEC.
“MEC has presented a convincing concept for the management of the site and has repeatedly demonstrated its competence and efficiency in the colaboration so far. Together we will further develop the center and utilize the full potential of the retail property,” explains Björn Fraeb, Head of Investment Management, Retail Northern Europe at Nuveen Real Estate.
Local supply center with an attractive sector mix
The Kuhn-Center, which opened in 2010, is located in Linden near Giessen, Germany. The fully leased location with a sales area of approximately 10,300 sq m offers customers and visitors a comprehensive shopping offer with 18 retailers. These include the anchor tenant Kaufland with TEDI, BonPrix, Apollo Optik, KIK, Ernsting’s Family, JeansFritz and Deichmann. For optimal local supply, it is supplemented by service providers such as a pharmacy, a photo studio and a hairdresser. The large, ground-level parking lot in front of the center with over 400 parking spaces ensures convenient access.
