adidas opens innovative store at Westfield Centro with latest shop concept

In November, adidas will open a 620 sq m store at Westfield Centro in cooperation with the PTH Group. The sporting goods manufacturer is realizing its latest store concept “Home of Sports”.

At the end of the year, adidas will open a store on the ground floor of Westfield Centro in Oberhausen following the new “Home of Sports” shop concept. This reflects adidas’ corporate philosophy, which is based on values such as sport, culture, diversity and inclusion as well as sustainability. The design, lighting and audio create a bright, pleasant atmosphere that invites visitors to linger. Sustainability is also an important component of the new adidas retail space. In order to keep the ecological footprint as small as possible, the company relies primarily on furniture made of recyclable materials that can be reused. In addition, elements such as pitch markings, which embody adidas’ sporting identity, are part of the design concept. Another special feature are 3D-printed mannequins with different body shapes and facial features of all ages and cultures.

Constantin Wiesmann, Director of Leasing Austria & Germany at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, says: “The fact that adidas has chosen Westfield Centro for one of the first locations in the new design concept once again shows the appeal of the destination for international brands that want to establish their latest and most innovative concepts. Large and experience-oriented stores that can bring the entire character and diversity of a brand to life are central points of contact in stationary retail. We are therefore very excited about this partnership with adidas and PTH Group and the opening in November.”
