ACSP Chairman Christoph Andexlinger gets reelected as new Executive Board is confirmed

The executive board elections for the Austrian Council of Shopping Places (ACSP) took place on April 26. Christoph Andexlinger, CEO of SES, was unanimously reelected as chairman for two additional years.

Christoph Andexlinger was confirmed in office together with his Executive Board, including Roman Schwarzenecker, Paul Douay, Gernot Zöhrer, and Stefan Krejci. The elections took place in the form of a General Assembly in Ljubljana, parallel to the assessment of the latest trade developments in the Slovenian capital.

At the annual meeting, the association members exchanged views on current industry topics. In his statement, chairman Christoph Andexlinger emphasized the crucial importance of focusing on customer needs and in this context also underlined the high relevance of investments in the energy-efficient operation of retail properties.

As part of the General Assembly, ACSP invited its members to a two-day bench market tour in Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana, during which the latest trade developments were also covered. For example, the former deputy mayor and city planner of the city of Ljubljana Janez Kozelj informed in a city tour about the successful and internationally respected measures of the Slovenian capital with the transformation of main roads into pedestrian zones. Furthermore, the shopping malls Citypark, Supernova Rudnik and Aleja were visited, with the latter being nominated for the international “Design & Development Award 2023” of the European Council of Shopping Places, the winners of which will be announced in Milan in mid-May.

The ACSP also addressed the possibilities of increasing energy efficiency by means of artificial intelligence and modern mobility concepts. For the strengthening of stationary retail in cities, the association sees success in the common goals of retailers in shopping streets, city centers, and shopping malls with regard to the wishes of their customers.
