Aldi Sued launched Aldimania collection for digital twin

The current summer collection of the German discounter Aldi Sued is not only available in stores, but also in the Metaverse.

The avatar is easily created from a photo using smartphone with ReadyPlayerMe technology. This digital twin can be further edited and styled with the “Aldimania” looks. Ten looks are available from the summer collection such as shorts, T-shirts, slippers, beach towels and peaked caps.

Digital testing is already possible, physically the pieces will arrive in stores from July 31, 2023 and start at a price of 1.29 Euros (socks).

“Aldimania is an absolute heartfelt project for us and we go one step further with each collection,” says Christian Göbel, Group Director Customer Interaction Marketing and Communication at Aldi Sued. “With the new collection for the festival summer, we not only show that we offer iconic clothing for everyone at a low price, but we are also the first grocer to be present in the metaverse with a digital collection.”
