anybill — Transform Customer Touchpoints with Digital Receipts

anybill’s technology and partner network enables retailers of all sizes to issue receipts digitally directly at the checkout.

The Regensburg-based startup ensures customers the flexible management of digital receipts on their smartphone with the anybill app. As such, the company positions itself as a Tech-End-to-End-enabler and aims to close a relevant gap in the existing (payment) infrastructure and act as a link in a complex stakeholder ecosystem.

Shoppers can obtain the digital receipt either directly, or by using a digital loyalty card. A QR code that can be scanned by a smartphone is shown on the customer display during the sales process. Customers can then save this receipt as a legally compliant PDF on their devices.

Alternatively, the customer shows the QR code of their personal loyalty card on their phone, which is scanned at the checkout and a digital receipt lands directly in the anybill app.

Moreover, after scanning the QR code, you also have the choice of either storing the receipt directly in your Google or Apple Wallet or receiving it by email. A new feature is the receipt retention by means of payment. Once activated by the customer, the receipt is sent directly with the payment by debit or credit card.

During the checkout process, instead of printing out all receipts by default, the display of QR codes replaces this process. If customers prefer a paper receipt, this can also be printed. Card payment receipts are also generated digitally, and all the usual exchange or return processes can also be carried out with the digital receipt.

In particular, the startup’s technology provides advantages such as leveraging customer insights, optimizing costs (reduce paper costs, improve processes, save time and resources), boosting customer engagement — by engaging customers directly at the point of sale and retaining them with loyalty programs — enhancing sustainability efforts, and elevating customer service.
