Bees contribute to biodiversity in urban environments by pollinating and supporting plants and trees’ growth. For these reasons, urban beekeeping has proved to be a natural method for cities to diversify its ecosystem.
This week for the first time, MPC Properties has organized a series of honey harvesting events taking place in its assets, UŠĆE Shopping Center, Navigator Business Center 2, and UŠĆE Towers, where they have positioned their beehives. In these events, MPC has gathered together its business community, employees, their children, and UŠĆE Shopping Center’s visitors. Many of them had the opportunity to see and experience honey production live, get in touch with how bees are in their natural habitat through educational workshops, and taste fresh honey from MPC Properties’ beehives.
At the end of the process, the company has collected a total of 130 kg of honey produced by bees from the MPC Properties beehives. The project is realized in cooperation with MAD MED Association and The Belgrade Beekeepers’ Association (BUP).
