Bestseller Group expands in Austria

Worldwide, there are around 3,000 Bestseller brand stores in 32 countries, 600 of which are operated by partners. The wholesale business sells products to more than 17,000 multi-brand and department stores around the world.

Founded in 1975 by the Holch Povlsen family, the Danish fashion group with an assortment of over 20 brands, has once again accelerated its retail expansion in recent months, showing that the current market situation also holds many opportunities for expansion.

In the past 12 months, eight stores of the Only brand were opened, including the 500 sq m new flagship store on Linzer Landstraße. In addition, a whole series of well-performing stores have also been brought up to date through remodeling and expanded to up to 800 sq m (Westfield SCS, Fischapark Wiener Neustadt, Murpark Graz and Center West Graz) as well as a 242 sq m store in the Nussdorf-Debant retail park in mid-May 2023. Austria is one of the most promising markets for Bestseller’s formats to continue the strategy of spaces of 500 to 800 sq m, which has been successfully tested in Germany. Expansion projects for next year include the retail parks in Eugendorf, Imst and Feldbach as well as Plus City in Pasching.
In the current financial year, Jack & Jones has so far opened four stores, for example in the Murpark in Graz and in the Arena Fohnsdorf, as well as a store in the McArthurGlen designer outlet in Parndorf. The stores in the Bühl Center in Krems and in the Fischapark in Wiener Neustadt were renovated or enlarged. The next two store projects on the agenda are FMZ Eugendorf and Plus City.
Vero Moda opened in Graz’s Murpark at the end of June, and the upcoming new openings and conversions/extensions are firmly scheduled for Plus City, Bühl Center and FMZ Eugendorf.
The children’s fashion brand Name it is also opening new stores: McArthurGlen Designer-Outlet in Salzburg opened at the end of June followed by Shopping Center Seiersberg on July 6 and McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Parndorf in Parndorf at the beginning of August.

Bestseller’s goal is to sell clothing and accessories for all ages, genders and occasions from good quality at competitive prices.
The company employs more than 18,000 people in areas including design, logistics, sales and technology. Its global supply chain partners include more than 500 suppliers, and its products are manufactured in more than 800 factories, employing more than 600,000 people in 23 countries.
