BIG CEE and RC Europe have reached an agreement on two projects in Serbia

BIG CEE and RC Europe have reached an agreement on the sale and purchase of two retail parks in Serbia, NEST Obrenovac and Nest Kraljevo. Process of transaction went smooth and was facilitated by CBRE.

Nest Obrenovac covers an area of GLA 11.000 sq m, while Nest Kraljevo covers GLA 9.500 sq m, both with occupancy rate of 100%.

This transaction is in accordance with BIG CEE’s strategy of continuing its investments in additional cities throughout Serbia. In the next few months BIG will be working on optimizing and adjusting the shopping centers, which will be rebranded as BIG in the coming Spring-Summer season.

“We are very satisfied with this transaction, which is in direct support of implementing our strategy of bringing the BIG experience to every citizen of Serbia. I would like to thank the RC Europe team, headed by Martin Grunwald for a smooth and pleasant deal making process. RC Europe has done a great job on these two assets, and we are happy to take over and continue improving them and becoming places of BIG attraction in the respective cities.” states Mr. Lev Weiss, CEO BIG CEE.

The RC EUROPE Group will use the proceeds from the transaction for the construction and development of the logistics and industrial park project RC ZONE Samobor near Zagreb in Croatia. RC EUROPE groups are now building here the largest single building in Croatia with a total rentable area of more than 80,000 sq m.

“I want to personally thank the entire team of the BIG CEE group in Serbia, and Mr. Lev Weiss in particular, for his most correct actions during the entire transaction,” says Mr. Miloslav Hartman, co-owner of the RC EUROPE group.

“For the RC EUROPE group, this is the largest divestment in Serbia, and we are pleased that both centers will continue to be managed and developed by the company number one on the Serbian retail market. This is the end of a great chapter for us, which began exactly 6 years ago with the opening of the first phase of the NEST Kraljevo project on December 1, 2017.” adds Martin Grünwald, member of the board of directors of the RC EUROPE group.
