The first Europe-wide lockdown in spring 2020 sent retail markets from Scandinavia to the Iberian peninsula into an unprecedented state of collective shock. This was reflected in the European retail industry barometer, the Global Retail Attractiveness Index (GRAI), which plummeted to a historic low of 89 points in the second quarter.

The Spanish brand Spagnolo opened its doors on February 12th at La Torre Outlet Zaragoza, which was followed by the opening of the children’s clothing and footwear brand Mayoral on February 15th. Both brands land in the complex to enrich the men’s and women’s brand mix, as well as the children’s offer.

Despite Corona, MEC has broken a leasing record in 2020. In the past fiscal year, the retail property manager concluded more than 200 new and follow-up leases with a total space of 85,000 m².

CORESTATE has set up Stadtquartiere I, a new open-end special AIF. Corestate is aiming to achieve a target volume of around € 500 million. Hannover Leasing, an in-house investment management company, is responsible for managing the fund.
