Hoka opens the first store in Europe

Leasing success for urban mixed-use project LU: in Mainz

The anchor tenant for the LU: project in Mainz has been determined. In the urban mixed-use project development by J. Molitor Immobilien GmbH and Sparkasse Rhein-Nahe, one of Europe’s most successful sports retailers, Engelhorn Sports, is opening its first store in the Rhine-Main area.

Cooperation between Sheltersuit, local social aid organisations and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield: support for homeless people in a total of 12 cities in Germany and Austria

Together with the Dutch Sheltersuit Foundation and local aid organisations, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) is once again launching a relief campaign for homeless people in need in eleven German cities and in Vienna. Starting on October 10, 2023, Homelessness Day, Sheltersuits will be distributed to people in need.

Place of the Week: Westfield Mall of Scandinavia

The biggest shopping center in the Nordics, the Mall of Scandinavia is a combination of innovative and traditional design. Opening in 2015, the center received a very positive reception, with over 40,000 people visiting already on the first day. In 2019, Uniba-Rodamco Westfield obtained the center, changing its official name to Westfield Mall of Scandinavia.

Management of small retail properties: MEC combines remote control with local competence

MEC is optimizing its range of services for smaller retail locations. The new strategy concerns the management of retail properties without an on-site presence of center management teams. In doing so, MEC combines its operating expertise in the remote management of such properties with its nationwide organizational structure and thus short response times.

Grandfather James Cloppenburg opened the first department store in Düsseldorf in 1901. His grandson Harro Uwe Cloppenburg has now passed away at the age of 82.

Search for sustainable start-ups: Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield awards upcycling start-up Airpaq as the winner of the Westfield Grand Prix for the Germany and Austria region

A select expert jury including industry leaders and members of the Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) management team chose Airpaq, which creates upcycled products such as backpacks and bags from car parts, as the big winner of the Westfield Grand Prix 2023. The Community’s Choice Award was presented to CleanlyEco, which produces sustainable washing strips. The awards evening took place at the shopping and leisure destination Westfield Centro in Oberhausen.
