The Rhein-Ruhr Zentrum (RRZ) in Mülheim, Germany, has gained a new anchor tenant: leisure provider ADVENTICA. The owners of the center, Eurofund Group and Signal Capital Partners, have now signed a long-term lease for 3,300 sq m of space. The opening of ADVENTICA’s first German location is planned for the second quarter of 2025, while renovation work will begin in early October.

Through its platform, the Berlin-based company Cariqa connects charge point operators (CPO) and customers directly instead of the usual payment concept via e-mobility providers.

A good ten years after its opening, Skyline Plaza in Frankfurt am Main, which is jointly owned by Allianz and ECE, is receiving more than 35 million euros for an extensive modernization program. With new tenants and concepts, a revised design and numerous additional offers and services, it is being comprehensively prepared for the future.

ECE Real Estate Partners is expanding its investment activities and has raised further circa 100 million Euro of capital for its ECE Progressive Income Growth Fund (the “EPIG Fund”) that invests in high quality shopping centres in Europe and holds a portfolio of seven centres with a total market value of more than 2.2 billion Euro.

Utopian Hours, taking place 18-20 October in Turin, Italy, is a three-day international event organized by urban knowledge agency Stratosferica, showcasing and discussing new concepts and inviting guests and audiences to suggest a new way of conceiving human evolution. Starting from the first edition in 2017, the festival aims to give for the eighth time a voice to the people behind these changes: City makers, activists, architects, and innovators share their experiences and stimulate new visions for the future and concepts of cities. NIKE announces that Elliott Hill will become President and Chief Executive Officer of NIKE, Inc., effective October 14, 2024. Hill will also become a Director of the NIKE, Inc. Board of Directors and a member of the Executive Committee.

Evolutionary development to secure the location: Dreieich Nordpark, located around ten kilometers south of Frankfurt am Main and a central supply location for the residents of Dreieich and the Offenbach district, has been extensively modernized – and a number of new tenants have also been added to the location’s offering.

VIA Outlets has initiated a development project to expand the sales area of its Landquart Fashion Outlet in the Greater Zurich Region by around a quarter, as premium retail brands follow European consumers and shift their focus from full-price retail on the high street to the outlet center format in search of greater value and volumes.

No other European country has more mega shopping centers than Spain. Of the total 640 shopping centers in Spain, 74 have a leasable area of 50,000 sq m or more. The total leasable area of Spanish mega centers amounts to approximately 4.1 million sq m. Germany, on the other hand, currently has “only” 48 such mega centers but boasts a larger number of mid-sized shopping centers between 30,000 and 50,000 sq m.

As part of its ambitious strategy to grow the number of sites it operates, entertainment and leisure operator, the Lane7 Group, has announced the opening of its first venue in continental Europe at The Playce, Potsdamer Platz in Berlin in September, as well as two venues opening in Dublin in the coming months. While continuing the pace of its UK expansion – with a second London venue, in Camden, opening in October – Lane7 now seeks to grow its European portfolio by some 10 venues over the next 2 years.
