Central Group will become the new owner of KaDeWe, Oberpollinger and Alsterhaus

The business operations of the luxury department stores KaDeWe (Berlin), Oberpollinger (Munich) and Alsterhaus (Hamburg) are sold to the Thai Central Group.

Central had already acquired the Kaufhaus des Westens building in Berlin for one billion euros in April. Now the Thais are also taking over the two other department stores. The sale secures the business operations of the three luxury department stores.

The three premium department stores are located in the main shopping streets of the three cities and stand for high-end fashion and top gastronomy. The Central Group, which is now taking over the business operations, is owned by the Chirathivat family, one of the richest families in Thailand.
