- Local favourite DistriAndina has signed for a new 2,100 sq ft unit on Elephant Park’s Ash Avenue. DistriAndina has become a popular local business from their site within Elephant & Castle’s railway arches, serving authentic South American street food dishes such as arepas and empanadas, and selling an array of grocery and snack items imported from across Latin America.
- Four Hundred Rabbits, the renowned south London based sourdough pizza specialists, have opened their fifth pizza parlour, at Elephant Park. Comprising 1,790 sq ft, the new store offers their signature sourdough pizza menu, monthly specials, craft beer, and their brand-new range of ‘hutch-made’ gelato and sorbet. The restaurant overlooks the newly opened Elephant Springs, making Four Hundred Rabbits a picturesque parkside dining spot for eating, drinking, and good times, with takeaway available for pizza at the park or at home.
- With an ethos for bringing pubs full of personality and charm to south London, Livelyhood will be launching their eighth site in the capital at Elephant Park early next year, called The Rosy Hue. The dog-friendly 3,100 sq ft venue will have a large bar and dining space serving delicious food and drink from local suppliers and producers; a dedicated sports area featuring giant screens showing all the latest sport; and a heated outdoor terrace accommodating approximately 54 covers boasting views over Elephant Park.
Guy Thomas, Head of Place Assets at Lendlease, commented on the latest signings, saying: “Signing Livelyhood, Four Hundred Rabbits, and DistriAndina bolsters the offer to our local community, and highlights our commitment to building a diverse and balanced array of operators within Elephant Park. Each of these brands have roots in South London and will bring something unique to Elephant Park. They join the emerging dining and lifestyle hub on Ash Avenue which, given its unique parkside location on the brand-new two-acre park, will provide an al fresco drinking and dining experience that you cannot find anywhere else in London.”
Sarah Wall, Owner of Livelyhood, said: “Elephant Park is an exciting new destination and stands as the perfect location to expand our offer in South London. We look forward to growing our team and working in partnership with suppliers in the area as well as Lendlease, to create a neighbourhood pub to be enjoyed by both local residents and visitors. Lendlease understands the importance of having an independent pub as part of its community, and we are grateful for their support in helping to make this new venue a reality.”
Luis Betancourt, Store Manager at DistriAndina, commented: “Elephant & Castle is our home, so we are very happy to be part of this new community at Elephant Park. Latin American food is increasingly popular in the UK, but still people don’t know all it has to offer – we look forward to educating our new audience through delicious food and exciting new products!”
This news comes as Lendlease announces the marketing of the latest phase of Elephant Park, The Chatteris Quarter. The units, also on Ash Avenue and a short distance from the soon to open Four Quarters arcade bar, offer high footfall potential with views over the two-acre park, and are open to retail, wellbeing, leisure, or creative businesses with a base in south London.
Nash Bond, CF Commercial and Shelley Sandzer represented Lendlease.
