In this newly created position, Heppner is responsible for managing all construction and approval processes as well as coordinating external consultants, planners and architects. He will also act as the central point of contact for the local planning authorities of the city of Mülheim.
This strategic personnel decision is related to the planned conversion and repositioning of the Rhein-Ruhr-Zentrum (RRZ) in Mülheim. The Eurofund Group acquired the property in July 2023 together with its joint venture partner Signal Capital Partners. The partners are investing a total of around 180 million euros in the comprehensive revitalization of the RRZ in two project phases.
Marc Heppner, a graduate engineer, has more than 25 years of experience in leading positions in real estate development as well as in construction and project management for national and international projects. In his last position as Senior Project Manager at BPD Germany, he was responsible for the management of the JK Bonn with over 1,000 residential units, the “Senkeisgraben” climate protection settlement in Cologne and the “Brühler Freiheit”. His other professional positions include management positions as Head of Construction and Deputy Head of Real Estate & Facility Management at Funke Mediengruppe as well as project manager and site manager at Peek & Cloppenburg and C&A.
“With the continued expansion of the Eurofund Group and the consistent implementation of our revitalization plans for the RRZ, now is the ideal time to strengthen our German team,” says Ian Sandford, President of the Eurofund Group. “Marc Heppner brings extensive industry experience and is the ideal person to lead this important project to success.”
Marc Heppner emphasizes: “I am looking forward to contributing my expertise to the redesign of the RRZ and actively contributing to the successful further development of the Eurofund Group”.
