Fashion and lifestyle company Peter Hahn closes the majority of its stores

The focus is on online business, and therefore 14 of the 17 stores in Germany and Switzerland are being closed.

Peter Hahn was founded in 1964 in Winterbach near Stuttgart, Germany. It began with coats made from llama hair and today has around 350 brands in its range. Over time, the company has developed into a multi-channel provider with its own shops in Germany and Switzerland and supplies customers in Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark. The closures affect 400 of the 1000 employees. Only the branch at the company headquarters in Winterbach and the outlets in Metzingen and Urbach are to be retained.

Peter Hahn applied for protective shield proceedings in October 2023. According to a press release, the reason for the restructuring is the effects of the insolvency of a sister company, conversion requirements within the framework of the ERP system and the general market situation in the mail order business. As with Madeleine Mode GmbH, Detlef Specovius from the law firm Schultze & Braun was appointed as restructuring specialist. Both companies are part of the Munich-based TriStyle Group.

The realignment follows the opening of the main proceedings in January 2024, which will be accompanied by the dismissal of around 400 employees. As the store business only makes up a small part of the company, the focus is now on the online business.
