TORG added the project Tubize Outlet Mall (TOM) to its outlet portfolio. The 15,300 sq m outlet will be located in the heart of Belgium, 25 minutes South West of the city Bruxelles. It will be part of a new mixed-use neighborhood development, the so-called “Confluents” including residential, leisure, and diversified gastronomy.
Located on a former industrial site of over 80 hectares, TOM will benefit from one of the most densely populated catchments in Europe with over seven million people living within 60 minutes as well as an above average purchasing power. It aims to attract visitors from Flanders, Wallon Brabant, and Hainaut.
Construction of the project is well advanced with an opening planned for late 2023. On leasing the outlet, TORG International will collaborate with Start Concepts. “There are not many strategic spots left in Europe for outlet developments and, for sure, the greater Brussels area is one of those locations that everybody has been waiting for, for many years“, says Robert van den Heuvel, Partner Development and Leasing TORG International.
TOM is being created as a convivial and sustainable living space. It will not only include a major leisure attraction on 6,000 sq m, but it will also showcase the largest urban green roof in Europe with over 8,000 sq m. After accessing the roof, shoppers will be able to buy fresh fruit and vegetables right there. With energy self-sufficent buildings, TOM is qualifying for the BREEAM certificate of excellence for sustainably built environments.
