Along this boulevard are several buildings by Antonio Gaudi, among others, from the era of Modernisme, the Catalan Art Nouveau style.
Van Cleef & Arpels presents its selected collections such as Perlée, Alhambra or Frivole as well as the watch creations on the upper floor of the approximately 286 sq m store. The lower area resembles a library with several rooms and shines in a combination of dark and cream-colored elements with skilfully used lighting effects. Here, precious pieces are also presented in a pleasant feel-good ambience.
Mathilde Jonquière was responsible for the large-scale mosaic that links the history of Barcelona with the location of Van Cleef & Arpels. The artist created a harmoniously graded overall picture from mosaic stones made of pâte de verre in white, cream, gold and platinum colors, inspired by the works of Gaudi. The showcases are surrounded with these mosaics in a wide variety of effects, as well as a play of glossy and matte surfaces.
