The lease to the retail chain thus gives the go-ahead for the remaining spaces still available at the site: around 1,000 sq m on the first floor of Davenstedter Strasse 100 and around 5,500 sq m on the second floor of Davenstedter Strasse 80. Other tenants include a shoe store, a fitness studio, as well as a Scandinavian furniture retailer.
By fall 2022, FOM will have comprehensively revitalized the building and its surroundings, among other things by renewing the technical building equipment, the underground parking garage, the building roof, and the site access.
Elements of the sustainability concept include the installation of a solar power system, charging stations for electric vehicles and a new wooden facade.
Prof. Reinhard Walter, Managing Partner of FOM Invest, comments: “The leasing of large areas to Edeka and the high level of interest shown by existing tenants in continuing their leases demonstrate the attractiveness of the location.”
“In the fall of 2022, the people of Linden will experience a completely new, fresh and modern local shopping center. To meet the planned schedule, we continue to build on the support of the responsible municipal departments,” says Peter Skopp, project manager at FOM in Hanover.
