Several Görtz locations have already been closed, while many more continue facing closure. The store in the Alstertal shopping center in Hamburg was already handed over to the landlord on 1 April, while the store in Darmstadt is to close in mid-April. The investor process initiated by the provisional insolvency administration order is being driven forward on the basis of expressed interest. All expressions of interest in taking over stores are passed on to the landlords so that targeted, direct talks can be held.
The provisional insolvency administrator for the assets of Görtz Retail GmbH also shared on the topic of the shoe brand’s flagship store in Hamburg that no interested parties have come forward in the investor process to take over the entire area of the Görtz store. With more than 5,000 sq m spread over six floors, the property is around six times larger than the other Görtz stores.
In January, Görtz Retail GmbH filed for preliminary insolvency proceedings at the local court in Hamburg, its second time after its first filing in 2022.
