Görtz plans comeback in Austria with new concepts

Görtz Chairman Bolko Kissling plans to launch eight pop-up spaces in Austria at the end of November – these will be in Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg and Baden.

Following the takeover of Hamburg-based Görtz by Vienna-based CK Technologies GmbH in June 2023, initial plans and new concepts for the first openings are now in place. From next spring, these new pop ups will then become permanent. Kissling’s ideas for the new Görtz shops include several changes: Expanding the product range to include textiles to be able to present customers with complete looks and, services are also planned in the stores to increase dwell time and offer customers more convenience.

The external appearance will also be changed: “Görtz Lifestyle” will sell womenswear in future, “Görtz Boutique” menswear. The “Görtz Lounge”, which is mainly planned for residential areas, will offer additional services such as banking, post office and dry cleaning. The appearance of the Görtz shops will remain partly as before, but will be adapted and made more attractive. Most of the newly opened shops in Austria will be “Görtz Lifestyle” shops, but there will also be two “Görtz Lounges” and well-known branches.

These three concepts will also be managed by different people. The first of the new managing director positions will be announced this year, according to a company statement.

Next spring, half of the remaining 50 locations in Germany could also be adapted into a lifestyle store.
