Grand opening of Promenada: Convenient location, size and format attracts new customers

Modern, smart, pleasant – with these words describes Atrium the re-opened shopping center in the heart of the Praga Południe district of Warsaw, which has been attracting the latest design concepts in retail. After the completion of the second stage of redevelopment Promenada can now expand its catchment area due to its convenient location and carefully curated retail and service offer.

The next stage of the project has been completed. It involved the modernisation of Promenada, a flagship shopping centre in the portfolio of G City Europe (formerly Atrium European Real Estate). The comprehensive redevelopment was completed in just one year, and these extensive and very technically complex redevelopment works were carried out with the rest of the mall open for business as usual. As a result of the changes, which were coordinated by Muniak as the general contractor, 13 200 sq m of new leasable area were added to the centre, which now has a GLA of 63 000 sq m. The redevelopment plans that were prepared by Sud Architects feature a sophisticated style while meeting sustainable construction requirements. The shopping centre now has a cutting edge energy saving lighting system, which has reduced the carbon footprint of this asset. The modern shopping centre that was opened today allures with its refined, yet coherent, interiors and complementary offer, featuring the latest store concepts.

Shoppers can now enjoy a Peek & Cloppenburg store sprawling over two levels, a state-of-the-art Marc O’ Polo boutique, and other well-known and popular labels such as United Colors of Benetton, Cropp Town and House. Tous, Douglas perfumery, a Super-Pharm pharmacy and the media retailer Empik will open, showcasing the latest concepts in retail design. The mall’s tenants include brands that respond to the diverse needs of shoppers. Among the new openings are numerous service establishments, the Kakadu pet store, jewellery shops and lingerie boutiques. Homla and home&you are new additions to the offer of interior decoration stores. There are more new labels, not previously seen in Promenada, such as Fielmann, Jubitom, Lynx Optic, Digel, Lovisa, Tezenis, Family Optic, and VITA CAFÉ. Others, in turn, reopen their boutiques in our upgraded centre. These are: Witchen, VENEZIA Shoes, Mister Minit, Kosmetyczny Instytut Dr Irena Eris, Bytom, and Gatta. The Lider playground, and Nina Basco, Falconeri and Uomo stores are planned to open soon.

Anna Tana, Leasing Director, Atrium Poland, explains: “We have opened for business the latest and, dare I say, the most architecturally attractive retail property, which is undoubtedly our great leasing success. Even before the start of refurbishment works, we had already leased out 80% of the retail space, with a few other leases concluded afterwards. Promenada is not only our tenants. It is also an amazing community of our cherished long-time customers. The apartment blocks springing up in the area bring new patrons to us, which in turn makes our centre thrive as a business. The immediate catchment area of Promenada has more than a million people and includes a number of Warsaw districts and satellite towns, reachable within 20 minutes. We know that this is a popular shopping centre, and now, after the significant expansion of its offer and considering the development of Warsaw’s road infrastructure, we can reach an even greater audience.”
