HMSHost will be part of the new Manchester Airport Terminal

Winning tender includes five new stores, of 5 to 7-year contracts, with a total contract value of 84 million euro, set to open in 2020.

HMSHost International, global market leader in the food and hospitality industry for people on the move, is expanding its operations in the UK with 5 stores to open in the new ‘super terminal’ at Manchester Airport. Manchester Airport revealed the first wave of food and drink outlets that will feature in the new ‘super terminal’ being built as part of its £1bn transformation. The list includes a number of iconic local brands alongside popular chains moving into the UK’s third largest airport for the first time. HMSHost International is proud to bring along five stores to the new terminal, including KFC, Wrapchic, Pot Kettle Black, Amber Alehouse and VIT, which have been themed around extending the travellers experience of Manchester and referencing the vibrant local culture.

Global favourite, KFC, will be the brand’s first store in the Airport. British favourite Wrapchic will serve guests their unusual fusion of modern Indian meets Mexican street food. Local cult classic Pot Kettle Black moves from the High Street to the Airport, sharing their distinctive coffee concept with travellers with an all day brunch menu. Manchester-inspired Amber Alehouse, in partnership with local brewers Seven Bro7hers, provides guests with a modern industrial gastropub focusing on a variety of local craft beers, cask ales and small-batch lagers paired with bar food classics. HMSHost’s own VIT, the healthy, all-day fresh juice and food bar giving guests a healthy alternative.

“We are pleased to be increasing our portfolio, playing a part in bringing the new terminal in Manchester Airport to life in 2020.” said Walter Seib, CEO of HMSHost International, “With five new brand arrivals including KFC, Amber Alehouse, VIT, Pot Kettle Black and Wrapchic, we have translated local brands to high traffic locations, partnered with local brewers, and brought in international favourites. Our partnership with Manchester Airports Group, and specifically the team at Manchester Airport for these brands, has always been about creating something great together. Whether it’s a quick bite you’re after or you want to linger on your lunch whilst watching the runway, we believe we are creating places to be for all travellers to enjoy.”

The airport has revealed the first 19 venues that will open in the new terminal in 2020, with the roster also including a series of popular national chains.

Andrew Cowan, CEO at Manchester Airport, said: “We’re delighted to finally unveil the first wave of brands that will launch when our new terminal extension opens next year. We’ve carefully chosen the brands that we wanted in the new development to represent the fantastic food and drink scene that is happening in Manchester and the wider North, and also to ensure there is something for everyone with the wide mix of passengers we have passing through. This announcement once again highlights our importance to the region as a major source of employment. These brands also have a fantastic opportunity to connect with passengers across the globe. This is the next phase in our £1bn development and we’re excited to open so passengers can see the real step change in what’s to come from the airport as the development continues.”
