Leder & Schuh AG has taken over the traditional Austrian brand Delka

Delka was founded in 1907, acquired by Salamander Austria in 2011 and had 18 shops in Austria until it was spun off from the Ara Group in June of this year.

Leder & Schuh AG is represented by the Humanic brand in Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Croatia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Shoe4you in Austria. Around 2.000 employees work for one of the largest shoe retail companies in Europe. Leder & Schuh AG generated sales of around 351 million euros in 2022, an increase of 71 million compared to the previous year.

In addition to the brand rights, Delka also acquired the customer club’s membership data. According to a statement from the Graz-based company, it is currently in a conceptualisation phase.

The 19 Salamander shops that were closed a few weeks ago were taken over by the German shoe retailer Görtz, which has already opened its first pop-up areas in the Austrian capital.
