Isak Andic, Mango’s founder and non-executive Chairman, has passed away in a hiking accident, announced the Spanish fashion group.

Spanish media reported the 71-year-old fell down a ravine while hiking in caves that are part of a mountain range near Barcelona.

It is with deep regret that we announce the unexpected death of Isak Andic, our non-executive Chairman and founder of Mango. Isak has been an example for all of us. He dedicated his life to Mango, leaving an indelible mark thanks to his strategic vision, his inspiring leadership and his unwavering commitment to values that he himself imbued in our company, said Toni Ruiz, CEO of Mango in the statement.

Andic founded Mango in 1984, which has subsequently become one of the leading international fashion groups, with a significant presence in more than 120 markets and 15,500 employees worldwide. The company closed 2023 with a turnover of 3.1 billion euros.
