MAPIC 2024 — Retail In The Spotlight

This year, MAPIC is highlighting the best extension and mixed-use projects and is taking the pulse of retail cross-border development.

Over 3 days, participants can find the right partners to build a new generation of mixed-use and property assets, to create vibrant experiences and to further develop their business.

Listed among the fastest growing brands on the market, the participants this year number over 5,000 from 75 countries, including 1,600 retailers, restaurant chains and leisure operators.

A new concept introduced at MAPIC this year is the Retail Gallery, a new area and networking program located at Palais-1, Puit de Lumière, to maximize synergies and connections with property players. It allows participants to connect with fast-growing brands and open new locations through direct development in Europe, and to connect with new concepts looking to make their expansion debut on the continent. The focus of this year´s Retail Gallery will be the Observatory Retail and the Retail pitching sessions.

Moreover, MAPIC Academy is returning this year after its last year debut. In partnership with Nhood and Ingka Centres, MAPIC Academy Challenge is the opportunity for young retail companies established within the last five years and willing to launch a new physical retail concept, to gain financial and expert support to develop their concepts.

Each year, in collaboration with a property player, MAPIC supports the development of 5 new retail brands looking to open their first physical store as part of their strategy — offering a physical pop-up space and presence at the event.
