Max Mara opens first store in Norway

Max Mara’s first flagship store is located at Karl Johans Gate 16 in Oslo and covers 400 sq m over two floors.

The timelessly elegant interior is very consistent with the brand’s high quality standards. The deliberate combination of marble and herringbone parquet flooring, fashion and art as well as modernity and tradition is a very skillful but also contrasting interplay that creates an inviting atmosphere. There are intimate corners and areas to linger in between, and the careful selection of materials enhances this sense of well-being.

From 1925, her granddaughter Giulia Fontanesi Maramotti added to this love by creating patterns and passing them on in the form of books. It was in this context that Cavaliere Achille Maramotti founded the first company of the Max Mara Group in 1951, today one of the most prestigious international fashion houses, recognized worldwide as a pioneer of modern ready-to-wear fashion: “haute de gamme” womenswear produced with excellent industrial processes.

Today, the group is present in the most famous shopping streets in 105 countries with more than 2500 monobrand stores. The Max Mara Fashion Group includes 41 companies such as Sportmax, Marina Rinaldi, Pennyblack, Mariella with around 5,500 employees.
