MEC successfully operates and lets retail properties, including the Schlössle Galerie Pforzheim.

MEC Leases 65,000 Sq M Of Retail Space In The First Half Of 2024

The letting level at MEC remains very high in the first half of 2024. The retail real estate specialist concluded over 110 new and follow-up leases with a total area of 65,000 sq m during this period.

“This is a very good result, as almost all of the large re-letting projects with former Real space have now been successfully implemented,” says Head of Letting Christian Thiele. The contractual partners include Kaufland, Müller Drogerie, C&A, Media Markt, Siemes Schuhcenter, New Yorker, Woolworth and Bonita.

Occupancy rate in large properties significantly improved

As a result of these lettings, the occupancy rates of some large re-letting projects improved significantly in some cases. MEC is currently implementing major re-letting concepts in Saarbasar in Saarbrücken, Plauen Park in Plauen, Ostsee Park in Rostock, Förde Park in Flensburg, the Schlössle Galerie shopping center in Pforzheim, Nordpark in Dreieich and Galerie Troisdorf.

Christian Thiele, Head of Leasing Management at MEC, sees the reasons for the leasing success in the forward-looking approach and the good team play of all those involved: “By developing concepts at an early stage and through interdisciplinary cooperation with our clients and colleagues from center management and technical management, we can actively shape changes in our industry.”
