The rental level at MEC has remained extremely high in the first half of 2023. During this period, the retail property specialist was able to conclude more than 110 new and follow-up leases with a total area of 90,500 sq m.
Retailer Pepco new in MEC portfolio
With the textile and household goods retailer Pepco, the MEC leasing experts were also able to acquire a completely new tenant for their portfolio. Lease agreements have recently been concluded at three locations, and further agreements are already being negotiated. The starting signal was given by the first opening of Pepco on August 22, 2023, in Weißeritz Park Freital.
Within the next few months, further stores will follow in the Schöneweide center in Berlin and in the Bethanien Center in Neubrandenburg. In the future, all of them will be located in the former Reno rental space, and the store expansion will take place in a timely manner. The shoe chain has been in insolvency since June of this year, and MEC is thus ensuring direct re-letting of the respective spaces.
