MEC increased its rental performance again compared to the already strong previous year, since in 2022 it had a space of 158,000 sq m. The contractual partners include Deichmann, KIK, Woolworth, Modepark Röther, Kaufland, Müller Drugstore, Roller, Bonita, Media Markt, TUI, Takko, Media Markt and Porta.
MEC ensures that the Dreieich Nordpark is fully rented
The leasing team was able to successfully complete the new tenant concept in Dreieich Nordpark last year as part of the extensive refurbishment by MEC. Over the course of the first half of 2024, the local supply center will not only have a new design, but also through intelligent space optimization with additional retailers and thus an expanded offering. Concepts from the food discount, drugstore and household goods sectors ideally complement the tenant and industry mix in the new Drei-eich Nordpark. This was made possible because the new anchor tenant Kaufland did not take over the entire area of the previous Real hypermarket and the sporting goods retailer Decathlon uses a smaller sales area as part of an area optimization.
Goal- and solution-oriented collaboration as a success factor
“We would like to thank our tenants for their trust in our locations and our clients for their trust in our rental expertise,” says Christian Thiele, Head of Leasing Management at MEC. Thiele sees the team’s way of working as a success factor: “We achieved this strong performance due to the interdisciplinary cooperation within the MEC as well as the close and early coordination with our clients. For this year, the tenant-side realignment of the Saarbasar in Saarbrücken is on our agenda. We look forward to discussions with existing tenants and prospective tenants.”
