METRO, on whose behalf MEC was already responsible for the operational management, had previously acted as general tenant in the retail properties concerned. Following METRO’s withdrawal, the decision on the future management of the locations was left to the owners’ representatives, who decided to continue the cooperation with MEC.
The four retail locations are:
- Plauen Park in Plauen (owner’s representative: Commerz Real)
- Halle Center in Peißen (owner’s representative: Global Net Lease)
- Förde Park in Flensburg (owner’s representative: Redevco)
- Saarbasar in Saarbrücken (owner’s representative: Real IS)
“The fact that we can continue to manage these locations is a clear sign of the owner representatives’ confidence in our work. We are very proud of this,” explains Christian Schröder, COO of MEC. “Our many years of local experience and our focus on the further development of these retail properties have convinced them.”
By continuing the management, MEC ensures continuity and stability for the owners, while at the same time tapping into potential for strategic growth. As a result, the retail locations remain well positioned in the long term to successfully meet the challenges of the market.
These contract extensions confirm MEC as the leading provider in the management of retail parks in Germany and underline the importance of a strong partner for the sustainable development of retail properties.
