Mixed-use tower Timber Pioneer in Frankfurt receives building permits

The construction of the project developed by UBM Development and Paulus Immobilien is entering the implementation phase.

The Timber Pioneer is located in Frankfurt’s Europaviertel district. The 8-story building offers 14,100 sq m of office space and around 1,000 sq m of retail space on the first floor. It is planned that this space will be available to tenants within 15 months and will be sold by means of a forward sale.

The hybrid building will be executed by Austrian Wiehag, based in Altheim (Upper Austria). “Now we’re off,” says UBM COO Martin Löcker, “the Timber Pioneer is becoming a reality and we’re all looking forward to the first timber hybrid office in Frankfurt!”.

Wiehag Managing Director Erich Wiesner: “Building with wood is active climate protection. This is becoming increasingly important for investors.” Hans Joachim Schellnhuber (Director Emeritus of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research and founder of Bauhaus der Erde GmbH) sums it up: ”We can build our way out of the climate crisis with wood.”
