The lease agreement with Carrefour in Galeria Pestka (Poznań) was extended, it currently occupies 9,504 sq m. This is the third deal with a Carrefour hypermarket successfully secured by Multi Poland over the last 18 months, following Magnolia Park shopping center (Wrocław) and Sarni Stok shopping center (Bielsko-Biała).
“Over the last seven years, we have made Galeria Pestka an attractive retail location in Poznań with a resilient and balanced tenant mix that will continue to perform well,” says Frederic Rouleau, Country Asset Manager Multi Poland. “There still are locations where classic large-area hypermarkets are successful. An example of such a store is Carrefour in Galeria Pestka, which is located near Poznań’s largest housing estates. I am convinced that under the new lease contract, Galeria Pestka will consistently increase in its attractiveness.”
“This contract marks the third successful transaction with Multi Poland in recent months,” says Agnieszka Prędka, Head of Asset & Lease Management at Carrefour Polska. “Our store has built a strong position on the local market and has many loyal customers. We are convinced that Multi Poland’s efforts to expand the tenant mix and the landlord’s promotion of the shopping center will allow us to both attract new customers and further increase the satisfaction of the residents of Poznań with their shopping experience at Carrefour.”
Justin Meissel, Chief Investment Officer and Managing Director Europe, Henley Investments said: “The current retail real estate climate presents an attractive entry point for investment in well-located and well-managed properties. Our Polish debut investment last year with Galeria Pestka, Poznan, was an opportunistic off-market acquisition and illustrates Henley’s current interest in the retail sector. The shopping center is anchored by convenience tenants including Carrefour and Bricomarche, and above all very well-located within its sub-market. The leasing contract with Carrefour confirms the asset’s potential.”
Galeria Pestka has been managed by Multi Poland since 2014. In 2021, the center’s new owner, Henley Investments, has extended the lease and management contract with Multi for three more years.
